I DID IT!!

Hey guys

So if you guys didn't notice, I just posted 5 days in a row. So basically, I want to try this out. Have one week in a month where I make sure I post every single day on top of what I usually do. Since school's starting for me in a week, I know I'm going to be swamped with work and tests and torture so I know I can post at least 5 posts a month at the minimum. So I just completed August's Post Week and I'll find a week in September to do it!!

Also, do you guys have any names for this massive one week of posting? Any ideas? Let me know below!!

Love y'all and if you're starting school sooner than me: Go kick'em butts girl/boy!!

Wattpad Wednesday: The Bet

The Bet by KiM (ilurvbooks)
Pages: 202 Wattpad Pages
Appearance:
The Bet

Summary:
When Drake Swift lost in a bet, his best friend wanted to court a girl in a month and ask her to be his girlfriend. After she said, "Yes," he will tell her that he doesn't love her and all that happened between them was a game. But what if Sophia Taylor, the girl his best friend chose, is clever than they think she is? What will happen if she knows something about their pretty little secret?

I haven't done a Wattpad post in a really long time, so I thought I'd update y'all on what's going on in the Wattpad World. Okay, so this book was a big part in the inspiration of my own novel: Let's Play A Game due to the fact that they had to "pretend go out."

Anyway, this book was super cute and a really great read. Drake Swift was pretty much the dare-devil and he never lost a bet, until one day he loses unexpectedly to his best friend who told him ... it's pretty self explanatory in the summary right? Anyway, the characters were beautifully created. You see Drake as this big-shot guy and Sophia as this girl who is actually more than she seems. I’m probably just that type of girl that likes those cutesy romantic stories that have this heartbreaking cliffhanger and then the beautiful ending. But this book is exactly that which just gave it more points in my book.

Top Tuesday: All I Ever Wanted

All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins
ISBN: 0373774583
Pages: 409
Appearance:

Summary:
One Happily-Ever-After Rocking Chair...
and no sign of any forthcoming babies to rock in ol' Georgebury, Vermont. For Callie Grey, turning thirty means coming to grips with the fact that her boss (and five-week fling) is way overdue in his marriage proposal. And way off track because Mark has suddenly announced his engagement to the company's new Miss Perfect. If that isn't bad enough, her mom decides to throw her a three-oh birthday bash in the family funeral home. Bad goes to worse when she stirs up a crazy relationship with the town's not so warm and fuzzy veterinarian, Ian McFarland, in order to flag Mark's attention. So Ian is more comfortable with animals.... So he's formal, orderly and just a bit tense. The ever-friendly, fun-loving and spontaneous Callie decides it's time for Ian to get a personality makeover. But dang, if he doesn't shock the heck out of her, she might actually fall for Vermont's unlikeliest eligible bachelor....

Hey guys, so I decided to combine a book review with a Top Tuesday post. So I borrowed this book from the library in my last "book haul" and while I do have one more book to finish, this book is by far my favorite from that haul. So I guess you could call it my "top book choice."

Okay, so let's get started. First of all, I thought Callie went a bit over the top while mourning for her ex who I thought was a complete idiot. I mean, you have a fling with my girl during a business trip because you've both just had a near death experience and then come back to the work world and tell her, “Honey, it’s not the right timing.” No sir, you did not just do that. And after that, you hook with another girl just cause you want the deal her daddy has. No, that's just plain out wrong.

Second, can we stop for a minute and cheer over Mr. Grey’s marriage. I mean, it’s not every day your parents get married again after an ugly divorce that’s scarred your older sister. I just think it is super cute how he tried to win his wife again after 20 years of repentance and accepting what he did wrong.

Now more about Callie. I love her wittiness and overall optimistic view of life despite that loser of a boyfriend. Even if she didn't exactly start out with the goal to win Ian for Ian not for payback, I still think she’s super awesome! As for Ian, man I feel for you. I mean, your wife filed a divorce and then you found out the girl you’re in love with was technically using you until she fell in love with you herself and you got heartbroken and all. But STILL, at least you got the guts to chase after her in the end so applause for you!!

Now idiot boyfriend's new girlfriend. Sorry, I just gotta rant about this girl. You come into Callie's life be all "I'm so much better than you," and then you pretty much try to make her life a living hell? Then after her grandpa (who btw, I adore) dies you show up and act all sorry for your actions. Okay, maybe I'll forgive you, but still UGH!
 image
Okay, now that my anger's out of her, let's move on to Mr. Boyfriend. I don't remember his name because honestly, it's not worth remembering. First, like I said before you dumped her after a biz fling. Second, you hook with a daddy's girl for daddy's money. Then, you dump daddy's girl after you got the deal with daddy and come running back to Callie saying you love her and that you were wrong. Fourth, you freaking kiss her and break Ian's heart. Dude, I hate you on so many levels.

On a second thought...
image

Really, sorry for my vivid gifs but WHAT THE HECK is wrong with this guy.

I'm taking one. Okay, sorry guys. So that was my little rant about the story. Hope you guys liked the review and I 100% recommend this book because despite all the annoyin' stuff, it's a great read and I really enjoyed it! If you do pick it up, let me know!!!

Love made you a better person. Made you feel protected and precious and chosen. Chosen such a lovely word! And in loving someone else you became better...noble and generous and beneficent.

Unfortunately, I wasn't pregnant. Not with a child anyway. With Betty Crocker vanilla supreme. That's right. I had a food baby.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. So snap out of it.

My Stubborn Heart

My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade
ISBN: 978-0-7642-0974-1
Pages: 340

Summary:
Kate Donovan is burned out on work, worn down by her dating relationships, and in need of an adventure. When her grandmother asks her to accompany her to Redbud, Pennsylvania, to restore the grand old house she grew up in, Kate jumps at the chance.
Upon her arrival in Redbud, Kate meets Matt Jarreau, the man hired to renovate the house. Kate can't help being attracted to him, drawn by both his good looks and something else she can't quite put her finger on. He's clearly wounded-hiding from people, from God, and from his past. Yet Kate sets her stubborn heart on bringing him out of the dark and back into the light...whether he likes it or not.
When the stilted, uncomfortable interactions between Kate and Matt slowly shift into something more, is God finally answering the longing of her heart? Or will Kate be required to give up more than she ever dreamed?

Hey guys, the long awaited review of My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade. First of all, sorry for the HUGE delay, I won't make any excuses for it. Okay, let's get started on this review shall we?

Characters:

Kate's Grandmother: Guys, can we just give this woman a round of applause for asking Kate to go with her to PA? Without this gal, my beautiful couple would not have met. I don't remember much about her, as I finished this book in June, but I love her nonetheless.

Kate: My beautiful heroine of the story.  I love that, despite being worn down by her work and life, she still has this super strong faith in God and is willing to go to him for anything. If I could meet her in real life, I would just stand there and be like, "Girl I love you!" I would probably then start to bombard her with questions about how she stayed strong in her faith and how she dealt with doubts in her life. I mean, this girl is one big Christian role model! (In my POV.)

Matt: This guy is perf, I love the description in the summary where it says that he's clearly wounded and hiding from people, God, and his past. It sort of gives me this view that he strong, but scared, which is just awesome. The thing that drew me to him was the fact that he wasn't arrogant or big-minded like a lot of guys that are hiding from their past (that I've read in books.) Instead, he's pretty quiet and cold, which is fine I guess...

Morty and Velma: Gonna categorize this couple as one. First of all, Velma is one heck of a girl. If I could meet her in real life I would definitely tell her, "Girl, the world and it's men do not revolve around what you want." Morty is this super sweet guy who just wants a chance with the woman he's in love with. And he literally did all that he could to win her approval. Honestly, I didn't think Velma was all that worth it. I mean, she told him to change his hair, change his clothes, even to show off his coveted car! That girl wants way to much from him. But in the end, they fell in love and lived happily ever after, so...yay for them.

Story:
I freaking loved this story. I loved the way it began (which btw, you can read here). That sentence, "Funny thing about prayers. God hears them. But you just never know if, when, or how He's going to answer them." I mean, wow, completely blown away. Then all that goodness in the middle where the two of them (Kate and Matt not Morty and Velma) fell in love was beautiful. Everything seemed to go perfectly. A broken and hurting man with a caring, beautiful woman. Who doesn't see the sparks here? Then the part which absolutely broke my heart, but I won't tell you cause that would ruin the story and then the ending which just about made me cry and fall into 100 little pieces. Alright, overall, you guys have to go read it regardless if you are Christian or not, just so you can see the beauty of love, hope, and God.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Thank you, she prayed. Thank you, God.
Tonight, with the stars visible through the den's windows, she couldn't help but brim with hope. Hope for this old house, hope for her future, hope for her job, hope even for their heartbroken recluse of a contractor.

I think that God has blessing He wants to give but can't until you let Him.

She'd recognized him because he was the reason God had brought them here. God didn't care about the renovation of old houses. But He did care, very much, about His lost people.

Forgive me.
It seemed impossible, but he felt God's response immediately. You're forgiven. Just that quickly and simply. No lectures or blame. Only the feeling that God had heard everything and forgiven everything in one fell swoop. Just like that.

His plan had been for Matt to return to his hockey, which meant that three months ago had been the wrong time for them. God had needed these past months to work on them both. To get them where He wanted them to be.

How like God to bless Matt with hockey and to bless her with him. It was far more than she's hoped for and far more than she deserved. She'd had so little faith. When she'd left Matt behind, she'd stop trusting God, been willing to turn her back on Him. While God had only, ever, this whole time, been working for her good.

Music Monday: Story by Sam Tsui

Hey guys! Have you heard Sam Tsui's new album!! Well, it's not that new anymore but still. OMG! I love this song! I love all of the songs, but I'm limiting myself to just one song per week to rant and rave about.

Okay, so this week I chose Story which is currently rocking my Gmail and Facebook Statuses.

So, some lines from the song that stood out to me:

You're living your life like something you've read
Always just a couple lines ahead
Just dying to know how it all works out

Hehe, erm...guilty of that for sure. Well at least I try. I mean, how many of us haven't read a book and wished that our lives were like that? And if there was a girl or guy character that really stood out, wouldn't you try to be him/her? If not, I guess that only happens with me?

Oh, what's the point
Of reading the last page before you can even start?
Just have faith that getting there can be the best part

AHHH, cute verse numero one!! Well, not exactly cute, but it's really...inspirational? Yeah...dunno how to describe my fangirling over this verse...any ideas? Comment them below!!

Go on, predict the plot
While I sit right here wondering where you are
What good's a perfect ending
If you just pretend to see that far
I'm on your side, don't get me wrong
I wanna write this story too
Not one you've already written, no
I'd rather make it up with you

Alright, skipped that chorus and second verse to get to my baby: *drumroll* THE BRIDGE!! OMGAWD this is perfection. Seriously, if a guy says that to me, I'm gonna be like, dude marry me already! Sorry, huge sucker for cute things, but come on! "I'd rather make it up with you~~" It can't get any more beautiful than that.

So that's my rant and rave over the ridiculously beautifully written verses.  What are your thoughts on them? Leave a comment below~~

Freaky Friday: Bad Girls Don't Die

Hey guys, since I didn't end up writing a book review for Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender, I thought I'd show you guys the book trailer because it's pretty awesome. The trailer pretty much sums up the book. I mean, that's what it's supposed to do, but some trailers are like cliffhanging knives that just kill you. This one is too, but in the different way. Watch and see.  Enjoy~

Top Tuesday: Favorite Movies Of the Month

Hey guys,
So these are movies that I watched on the plane ride to and from Taiwan that I thought were pretty awesome. Enjoy~

This is my first Top Tuesday post!!

Hehe, excuse the crazy gif...

They’re all generally new movies except for Mulan. I watched Oz on the way to Taiwan and I dunno, I just thought it was really well casted and the effects and sound were really great. Epic was epic of course. I loved the storyline and the way the characters were drawn. Also the idea of the little people being in a complete different dimension that moves faster is really cool. Go Ozzy!! On the topic of little people, if you peeps haven’t seen The Secret World of Arrietty by Miyazaki you guys have to go watch it NOW. I wasn’t planning on watching Mulan, but I needed something to pass the last hour on the plane from Taiwan to Japan. I guess the movie brought back memories of singing I’ll Make A Man Out Of You and Reflection along with other Disney songs with my camp roommates until 2 in the morning. But it was great as usual, I really want to see Mulan II now…haven’t seen it in a really long time. AHH, I wanna see it! Last movie, you guys all know how much I LOOOOOOOOOVE the book Safe Haven right? Well the movie’s just as good. Well not just as good, but pretty darn close. I knew what was going to happen but that didn’t stop me from freaking out on my mom and sister when the music swelled and Kevin appeared. It also didn’t stop me from bawling my eyes out at the beautiful ending. So guys, you’ve got to go see it right now ASAP.

I'm Back Home!!

Harro guys!
I'm back home (FINALLY) after 7 long weeks in the burning land of Taiwan. First of all, I"M SORRY I'M SORRY please don't kill me  I know I've been super incognito/flat out gone for the whole summer. And I know some of you are still waiting on reviews. I've been reading a ton on my Kindle while in Taiwan and all the reviews are piling up. I also visited the library today with my sister and got some new books. So all in all, I gotz a ton of stuff to review. So I'm probably going to pick one or two of my favorite books from the list I owe y'all and finish them instead of writing out all cause I just have way to much work. (Plus the fact that I procrastinated on pretty much all of my summer HW...oops). But yeah, here are the books that I picked up!

I'm super excited to be reading paper books again! I love the Kindle and all e-readers but I still think physical books are waaaay better.

Forever Obsessed,
Riv
